5 Habits You Need To Implement Into Your Life

Over the last few years, I’ve learned just how important habits are. When used for good, they can be so powerful and life changing. But when used for bad, well, they can become dangerous. Bad habits (ie: swearing, staying up late, etc) are easier to develop than good habits (ie: waking up early, reading your bible regularly, etc), and are also harder to break than good habits. It’s so easy to break a rhythm that’s for your good. It’s much harder to break a bad habit. Trust me, I’ve learned this the hard way. Currently trying to break my cussing habit, and it’s harder than it seems. I’m also trying to develop a habit of waking up early to spend time with God, and let me tell you, that’s been almost impossible.

That being said, here’s a list of 5 habits I’m trying to implement into my life. I hope you guys find these helpful. 💛 Please remember to start slow, and be kind to yourself when you mess up, because I can guarantee you, you will mess up. You’re only human, not a superhero. It’s okay if you mess up. Just remember to get back up again after messing up, k? Every day is a fresh start. 💛

Putting a Glass of Water Next to Your Bed

Friends, your body needs this so badly. Especially if you’re the sort of person who forgets to drink water throughout the day. It’s so important to start your day with a few sips of water (please don’t chug the water, that will only upset your stomach). Plus, keeping a glass of water next to my bed helps me to remember to drink water throughout the day. Whatever I don’t drink in the early morning, I try to drink later in the day.

Adding lemon juice, fruit, or even a little bit of sugar can also help motivate you to drink more. Just don’t leave flavored water out for longer than 4 hours 😉

Making Your Bed First Thing in the Morning

Due to my health issues, making my bed when I first wake up isn’t always the easiest thing, but I’ve found that it can be so helpful for getting my mind into the right mindset after I wake up. Obviously, I wouldn’t recommend this if it’s too much for you physically– as my health has gotten worse over the last few months, I’ve learned just how exhausting even simple tasks like making your bed can be.

If you can make your bed though, please do it. 💛

Reading the Bible at Least Once a Day

I’ve found that reading my bible, especially in the early morning, is so helpful for my soul. When I leave my room, I’m immediately hit with a thousand different worldviews, and it’s so hard to discern which ones are God-honoring and which aren’t, especially if I haven’t spent time in God’s Word first.

I also like to, when I have the energy, read a few Psalms right before bed. This is especially good if I haven’t gotten in any time with the Lord earlier in the day. Plus, it helps set my mind on all that is true, lovely, and pure (Philippians 4:8-9). Something about the Psalms soothes my intrusive thoughts– not perfectly, but just enough that I can fall back asleep.

Cleaning Your Room Daily

I’ve always had a tendency to have a messy room. When I was about 12-ish, my room was so bad that I couldn’t see the floor 😂 I can’t find a photo of my room at it’s worst, but I did find this photo that shows just how bad it was at its’ best 😂

Anyways though, the point of that highly disturbing example *shudders* is to show that cleaning your room is extremely important. Whenever my room gets messy like that (usually when I’m depressed), my brain feels super messy and foggy and confused. Keeping my room clean helps my brain to feel better, and also helps keep me productive and motivated (: Let me know in the comments if you guys want a room tour (I promise my room is a lot prettier now than it was when I was in middle school 😂)

Working Out at Least Once a Week

This is definitely harder, especially if you have a chronic or mental illness, or are neurodivergent. Finding energy to workout is really hard for me (due to low executive functioning and very low energy), but I always feel so much better when I make the time to. Even sometimes just a short walk with Sushi counts as a workout– I like to double these as prayer walks when my attention span is feeling up for that.

My personal favorite workout YouTuber is Callie Jardine (:

Thank you so so much for reading this post, friends! 💛 I’m incredibly thankful to have you guys reading my posts– it always makes me smile (: I hope you were able to find some good inspiration for living a healthier lifestyle.

Friendly reminder that it’s okay if you have days (or even weeks) where you can’t maintain any healthy habits. I completely get it. Please be gentle with yourself. 💛

my favorite christian girl resources // part one

hello, friends! i hope you’re all doing well today ♥ it’s a lovely tuesday evening as i’m writing this post, and i’m watching a marvel movie with my younger sisters (: i figured i’d take a short break from my….heavier posts, and instead just give you guys some light and encouraging content ♥

note that i am not saying you should *buy* any of the products i recommend in here. i’m just saying they’re good products ♥ they aren’t sponsored or anything XD. also~ friendly reminder to remember to remain content in what the Lord has already blessed you with. i know how easy it can be to see posts like this and think “wow. if i just buy that one product i’ll be happy.” — please don’t buy into that mindset. that’s not my intent in this post at all ♥

my favorite christian girl products

// journaling bible

this is the journaling bible i have currently, and i love it so much. it’s gorgeous, and unique, and just…breathtaking. honestly, all journaling bibles are wonderful and so helpful in studying the Word. i know that my bible time has greatly improved since i bought my first journaling bible.

// micron pens

i love my microns so so so much. they don’t bleed through the pages of my bible, and they’re much more fine tipped than any other pens i’ve seen out there. my personal favorites are the 005 ones and the 01 ones 😉

// crayola supertips

the hype around these pens is real. i love them so so much; their colors are gorgeous, and they’re super affordable.

// tote bag

i love tote bags, okay? i know, i know. they’re basic, but honestly there’s something about them that just makes me so happy and adds a nice touch to any outfit i got mine from the daily grace co, during their $5 sale (keep an eye on their website — they hold those sales frequently). sadly i couldn’t find mine on their website *sad rue sounds* apparently they no longer sell it, so i can’t link it here 😦 i tried to find one that’s similar to it though.

// gracelaced notebooks

i got one of these for christmas, and they are breathtakingly gorgeous. i love all of ruth chou simons’s stuff (i’m hoping to get one of her books for christmas), and honestly just…there’s something about her art that is so soothing.

// bible & theology handbooks

i also got these for christmas, and they’re so wonderful and helpful. i love flipping through them. the bible one has really enriched my bible time (:

// the wingfeather saga series

i don’t currently own any of these, but i got them from the library and they’re just….. amazing. i’m on the 4th book right now, and i’m not ready to finish this series. i’ve read harry potter and percy jackson, and if we’re being honest, wingfeather is much better than either of those 😅 the characters are much more unique and i….. i love the world of wingfeather so much.

hello, friends! i hope you’re all doing well ❤ how’s your week going so far?

i don’t know about you guys, but i’ve been feeling like i’m trapped in a rut lately. it’s been rough, and has been messing with my mental health severely. my autism and adhd make it so easy to fall into executive dysfunction, and i just…yeah. so, with this post, i’m attempting to take back control and enter back into blooming.

this post is inspired by aria’s first light, my muse posts (:

i’m praying that this post was helpful for all of you *hugs* i’m sorry that my posts have been a bit scattered lately…. mental health has been difficult.

let me know how i may pray for all of you in the comments <33

Doubt, Brokeness, and How God Uses These Things To Refine Us | You Are Not Alone, Part One

I don’t own the featured image.

Hello, friends! I hope you’re all doing well on this exceedingly warm September day. What have you guys been up to? It’s been a while 😅 Today I thought I’d address a more…difficult topic that I’m really praying will help a lot of you to feel less alone in your struggles.

Before I wrote this post, I had a selection of my online friends take an anonymous poll about their personal struggles, and I must say, I was *not* disappointed with how many responses I got (there were 41 in total!). It was also really eye opening to see what people struggle silently. The struggles varied, from porn to swearing to complaining, and yet they all had one thing in common; they all are a result of living on a fallen planet.

My dear readers, you are not alone in your struggles. Please don’t believe that you are. That’s a lie from the pit of hell. I wish I could give each of you a hug, and reassure you that things will get better, and that others struggle the same as you.

I began my poll with a simple question: Do you believe in God? Unsurprisingly, most people answered that yes, they did. I wasn’t shocked, due to these friends being from a Christian forum. There was, however, a small sliver of people who answered with maybe.

I followed that up with a slightly less easy question (but still simple enough): Have you ever questioned your faith? This question got a much more diverse set of answers, ranging from yes, to no, to maybe, to I’m currently questioning it.

Let’s be honest; questioning God’s existence is taboo in the Christian community. It’s scary, and there aren’t many good resources for those who want to dig deeper. People are discouraged from asking the big scary questions about God, and we’re taught from a young age that God doesn’t like people who question Him.

It’s not a sin to question whether God is real or not. It’s a crucial part in growing in your faith, and in solidifying your beliefs. God does not hate you for questioning Him. He smiles softly at you, and allows you to question. He’s a gracious and loving Father Who does not condemn us for our unbelief. He knows that we are simply human, and that it is in our very DNA to ask questions.

Friend, do you personally believe in God? In Abba? In the Creator of the universe, Who knit the stars into formation and breathed breath into your lungs? Do you believe in Him? If you don’t, and you want to learn more about Him, please don’t hesitate to contact me through my contact form. I would be more than happy to talk about Him with you, and answer any questions you might have ❤

Please note that not all of the things on that list are sins. For example, it’s not sinful to be attracted to people of your same gender. It matters what you do with it, k? I know this from personal experience *hugs* (I’ll discuss this in a later post ;))

The second part of the poll was asking people which, out of a long list of things, they’ve struggled with. I had one friend inform me that after taking the poll, he felt humbled by the fact that he had checked off so many boxes. And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. I made myself take the poll, and I personally felt so small and…human after taking it. My brokenness was laid right in front of me on a checklist, and it hit hard that I had checked almost every single box.

I wanted this poll to impact the lives of others, but I didn’t expect it to impact my own. I felt slapped in the face by my brokenness, and was uncomfortably aware that I’m not perfect.

Friends, this is only the beginning of this series, and I’m praying that it impacts some of you. You all are loved, and things will get better. You’re not alone.

Let me know in the comments how I may pray for you all.

A Little Sprinkling of Inspiration To Brighten Your Day

Hello, friends! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day, and if you’re not, that today brightens up a bit for you <3. Today, I’m not going to be rambling in this post or anything, I’m just going to be showing some quotes that have really encouraged me. Lately, I’ve been struggling with deciding what to post on my blog. I keep wanting to post controversial angry posts, that will likely lose me quite a few followers. I keep wanting to use this blog as a venting space. And that’s not healthy. That doesn’t show Jesus’s love. There are already plenty of people out there, screaming the exact things that I want to say. There are less people posting gentle little reminders to love Jesus in your every day. And so, today? Today I’m simply posting some quotes that have really encouraged me, in hopes of encouraging you. These quotes aren’t mine, rather they’re from Pinterest, but maybe Jesus will use them to bring hope to someone out there, who has stumbled across my blog. Friends, I hope that these little quotes will bring you hope today, and remind you of God’s love for you ❤

Also, this is random, but I just got a Pinterest account and uhm I thought I’d really quickly promote myself. So, go follow meeee.
